AHOY Pi

A little AHOY box. A permanent home for independent media on your TV.

We’re building a Raspberry Pi experience around AHOY Streamer. The goal: flash an SD card, connect your Pi to a TV and the internet, and boot directly into AHOY.

The experience

Music, shows, and independent programming through AHOY Streamer, with a simple interface made for the couch.

First hardware target

Raspberry Pi 4, an SD card, HDMI, a suitable power supply, and an internet connection. Hardware compatibility is still being tested.

Status: In development. No flashable image is available, and boxes are not on sale.

What we’re working on

The initial software groundwork is in place. Next comes testing boot, playback, and HDMI audio on a Pi 4, followed by a downloadable image and remote-friendly setup and navigation.

The original Raspberry Pi is a separate research target; support is not confirmed. Pricing and availability will follow hardware testing.

Custom-built, by hand.

Our plan is to custom-build each AHOY Pi ourselves, one at a time. We’re imagining the enclosure, finish, and setup together with the people who may use it.
