AHOY Streamer TUI

Discover independent music and video from AHOY Streamer in a keyboard-driven terminal.

Browse music, videos, podcasts, and more. JSON commands are available for scripts and agents.

Download for your computer

Choose your system, download the ZIP, and extract it. Python is bundled; Git isn’t needed. Browsing the public catalog needs an internet connection.

On a Mac, choose Apple menu → About This Mac to see whether it lists a chip or an Intel processor. Linux ARM users can use the source-install instructions below.

Status: Standalone preview v0.1.0 · live playback still in testing

Start listening

  1. Extract the ZIP you downloaded.
  2. Open Terminal or PowerShell in the extracted folder.
  3. Run the command for your system:

Mac or Linux

./ahoy-streamer

Windows PowerShell

.\ahoy-streamer.exe

If Mac or Linux says “permission denied,” run chmod +x ahoy-streamer once and try again. The Mac preview is unsigned; macOS may ask you to approve it in Privacy & Security. Apple’s opening guide explains that step.

Supported standalone audio is included. Soundtracks during terminal video on Mac and Linux need optional mpv; Windows terminal video is silent. Audio and video playback have not yet been checked on every device.

Install from source or use another system

The GitHub setup guide has Python-based installation for macOS, Linux, and Windows, including Linux ARM. Source installs require Python 3.11 or newer.
